I cruised out to the 626 for a hype adventure with some of my old Visionshock homies + Carol + Phams.
Hype #1 Din Tai Fung Dumpling House
DTF is pretty much known for their soup dumplings. With that said, we had 10 orders of pork and shrimp soup dumplings. There's a lot of hype around them, and most of the time hype kills it for me because of the high expectations. Nonetheless, they're something that you must try once in your life.
Hype #2 Half and Half Tea House
This place definitely goes to show you that Asians have a lot of patience or Asians that LOVE boba have a lot of time to spare. Half and Half has the most ridiculous wait for a drink! The average wait time is is 25minutes! Honestly, what can they be doing that takes up so much time to make a drink. I would understand if they had a Unicorn in the back and they were trying their best to bottle it's tears, but I highly doubt it! Anyhow, Half and Half is know for their Honey Boba and Iced Milk Drink. The Iced Milk Drink is basically a half cup of milk slushy combined with whatever combination of add on that would fill up the other half of the cup, hence, Half and Half. I always get the Iced Milk Drink with honey boba, caramel, and egg pudding. It's pretty bomb, but not worth the drive nor the wait in my opinion.
Hype #3 The Hangover 2
Most of my peers raved about how The Hangover was one of the funniest movies that they've ever seen, but it wasn't that humorous to me because they basically showed 80% of all of the funny parts in their previews. The Hangover 2, on the other hand, changed it up and showed minimal scenes in their previews, so I thought that I would give the sequel a shot. Overall, the movie was well produced, but they tried too hard by going over the top with the humor. It kinda made the movie not believable. Like the first movie, my favorite part was when they showed the pictures of their trip during the closing credits.
Pork Soup Dumplings (9/10)
Carbs with spinach (7/10)
Spicy Wontons are a must as well! (9/10)
